How to stay positive when no one is with you

Do you find yourself alone and lonely? Do you feel that there is no one for you in this world? These feelings can easily make one demotivated. The thoughts of loneliness make one feel negative. How to stay positive under such condition? Can you stay positive when such thoughts surround you?
Yes, one can stay positive even when there is no one with you. Staying positive is a state of mind; it comes from within. You have to look inside you to bring the positivity back in you. Whenever you are feeling lonely and feel that there is no one with whom you can share your feelings, you have to be your friend and confidante.
I always remember the song by Rabindranath Tagore which says, “Ekla Cholo re”. It is a beautiful song which still inspires me to keep going even when there is no one with me. I always tell myself that I am there for me no matter what. So what, if no one likes me or no one believes in me, my belief in myself is enough. So what if there is no shoulder to cry on, I am here for myself to wipe my tears.
Whenever I find myself in the dark tunnel of loneliness, I close my eyes and see my mom standing before me with a guiding light. Her guiding light motivates me to follow her through the tunnel and at last, takes me out of the darkness. Similarly, when you feel alone, close your eyes and look inside, you will always find someone with a guiding light to show you the way out.
When the thoughts become too much to deal with, take up a hobby which always inspires you. For me, it is art and books. Art still inspires me and books provide me solace. The solitude gives me time to pause and think. It helps me in getting out of the chaos in my mind. I find myself able to reflect and rationalise. Art brings back the clarity, which gets clouded by negative thoughts.
At times, it is better to be lonely than in the company of people who don’t understand you. It is okay to find yourself away from the crowd, which fails to know the real you. It is alright to be YOU. Solitude is bliss than the company of mindless and fake people. Embrace it.
Finally, if you are not able to handle your emotions, just let them out. Pour it out in a journal or share them with someone. There is always that one person who believes in you. If not, go out and offer help. Sometimes, when we are alone and want someone to help us, try to be that person who could provide support to others. By helping those in need, we can get our positivity back. We find a reason to live.
